Mentor Couples for Marriage Preparation
Mentor Couples are married couples at Transfiguration who guide (mentor) engaged couples who are preparing to be married in the Catholic Church. We use a relationship-assessment program called “Prepare. “ The Mentor Couple meets with the Engaged Couple two or three times before their Wedding, and once afterwards. If you have been married for more than five years and would like to become a Mentor Couple, please call Pat & Cheryl Connolly at 651-702-1228.
Monthly Blessing for Expectant Mothers and those Families Praying for the Gift of a Child
Please join us for this short Blessing ceremony after the 10:30 am. Mass, on the first Sunday of each month, by the Statue of the Blessed Mother, in the southwest corner of the Church.
Weekly trips are made by parish volunteers to drop off donated clothing to Joseph’s Coat in St. Paul, providing gently used clothing to those in need. You may drop off clothing at any time in the Gathering Space along the south wall, by the Storage Room. If you are able to volunteer to help deliver to Joseph’s Coat, please contact the Parish Office at 651-738-2646.
At Transfiguration, we embrace the Catholic Church’s teaching on the sanctity and dignity of each and every human life, from conception until natural death. Our Faith impels us to pray and work to create and support a community caring for life. Below are some of the Pro-Life Opportunities at Transfiguration Catholic Church. We also provide pamphlets and materials in the Gathering Space to aid in your understanding of the Church’s pro-life teachings and other crucial moral issues that concern our Catholic duty to support life.
Transfiguration supports those in need by collecting food and delivering it to the North St. Paul Food Shelf. You may drop off non-perishable food items in the Gathering Space, along the south wall by the Storage Room. If you are able to use your vehicle to deliver food to the Food Shelf, please contact the Parish Office at 651-738-2646.
“I have had the pleasure to help with the Food Shelf for about a year now and it is heartwarming to see not only what our Transfiguration community gives, but the feeling I get knowing that the food we give is feeding local families. We are the hands and feet of Jesus.” - Tim Hanson, Food Shelf Volunteer
Cenacle for Life Prayer Group
This groups meets each Tuesday in the Harvester Room after the 8:00 am Mass.
Parishioners join the Twin Cities “40 Days for Life” outdoor prayer campaigns in March and October each year.
The Giving Tree
The Giving Tree is an opportunity for our parish to reach out to those less fortunate in the Christmas Season. We collect gifts for various social service organizations as well as for individuals in our parish and surrounding communities. Parishioners donate gifts, food and cash, enabling us to provide gifts and food for more than 700 children and adults. Volunteers are always needed, and planning starts each October. Please contact the Parish Office at 651-738-2646 if you are interested in helping.
