Preschool 3/4 Lead
My name is Carrie Yerke. I have been happily married since 1999 to my husband, Fred and we have 2 girls and 6 boys.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in K-12 music, and another in Elementary Education/Middle School Language Arts. I have a Master’s Degree in reading & literacy as well.
This is my 2nd year at Transfiguration, my 1st year as a preschool teacher. I have been teaching since 2005, with 13 of those years teaching K-8 general music, band and choir. Most of my teaching career has been in Catholic schools. Just prior to coming to Transfiguration, I decided I wanted a change which included working closer to home as my youngest 3 children are on the autism spectrum. I loved teaching music to preschoolers, so I decided that I would love to work with preschoolers on a regular basis. After meeting Jane, Matt, Andy, and Anna, I could tell that I would love to work at Transfiguration. I hope to work with the families here for many years to come.
Another reason I knew that Transfiguration would be a perfect "home" for me is the Bible verse on the wall in the office,
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
My grandmother first introduced this verse to me when my mom died when I was four years old. This verse has helped me through all the trials in my life.
