What is Financial Peace University?

Financial Peace University is a series of classes taught by Dave Ramsey, one of American’s most trusted financial advisers. Dave and his team provide the knowledge and tools necessary to take control of your spending and saving, so you can manage your money instead of letting your money manage you. Learn to secure your family’s financial future!

Who benefits from this program?

Everyone can benefit from this program, regardless of age, income or marital status, whether you are struggling with debt, or just looking to make your money work more effectively for you. It has proven to be a great help to many people.

What is the cost of Financial Peace University?

The early-bird cost for Financial Peace University is $93, which includes all materials, and access to the online resources you need to succeed. Spouses and engaged couples attend together under a single tuition, and teens living at home are welcome to attend with their parents. The cost will increase to $109 once Transfiguration’s initial inventory has been purchased.

When will the first class start?

The classes start the week of January 14. There will be eight different options for class times. Classes will be held once a week for nine consecutive weeks.

How is each class structured?

Each class session lasts approximately an hour and a half. For the first half of the class, Dave Ramsey teaches on DVD. During the second half, class members come together for a small-group discussion and hands-on activities. Group members support and encourage each other as they work to change their financial futures.

What is the average size of the class?

The average class size varies based upon day and time. Discussion groups are between 8 and 10 people.

What happens if I miss a lesson?

As part of your tuition, you'll have access to the lessons online. If you miss a class, you can review that lesson and stay on track with your class.

Is childcare provided?

If you need childcare, we will do our best to accomodate, but if a sesison only has one child, that may be difficult.

Will I be asked to provide any personal financial information?

Twice throughout the course, we will collect financial data to get a cumulative financial view of the class. This data is strictly confidential and is submitted anonymously.

How do I get started with Financial Peace University?

It's easy! You can sign up for one of many different class times offered.

  • Preferred Registration Method: Visit our Course Schedule & Sign-up page to select a day and register online.
  • Off-line Registration:  If you prefer not to sign-up online, click here for a PDF signup sheet.  Complete this and return it to the desk in the gathering space.
  • Sign-up in person: If you do not have internet access, Signup slips will be available at the Gathering Space desk.  You can sign up after any weekend Mass, November 18 – January 14.
  • Although prior registration is preferred, you can come to the first session of any scheduled class to register and join.

Is there a way to try it first?

On Saturday, December 9, there will be a sneak preview session at 6:00 p.m. (after the 5:00 p.m. Mass).

On Sunday, December 10, there will be two additional sneak preview sessions: at 11:30 a.m. and at 6:45 p.m. (both following the regularly-scheduled weekend Masses).

A complimentary meal will be included. Preview sessions will be held in the Gathering Space of Transfiguration Catholic Church.

What if I have more questions?
