Summer Choir Camp
The camp is presented by Mrs. Mary Demko, Transfiguration Parish Director of Music, and Mrs. Donna May, St. Agnes School's Vocal Music Director.
In addition to experiencing the joy of singing beautiful music with other students, this year’s Music Camp will cover basics about the role of music in Catholic liturgies, as well as a bit of Catholic music history, Gregorian Chant, and responses for the Holy Mass.
Singers will receive instruction on proper breathing techniques, melody and rhythm, vocal tone quality, and choral singing skills.
Summer Camp will culminate in singing for the Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin under her title “Our Lady of Mount Carmel” at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 14. All families are encouraged to attend this closing Mass. Enrollment in the Brown Scapular Confraternity will be available after Mass for any singer or family member.
Singers must be able to match pitch; music reading is not a requirement, but is a plus!
Dates: Monday-Friday, July 10-14
Camp Fee: $50.00/student (family cap $90.)
Who can attend: This program is for students entering grades 4-12 (younger children with permission from director.)
