Learning and Growing in Our Catholic Faith:
Education in the Catholic Faith is essential at every age of life. Our children at Transfiguration need the strong formation that comes from our outstanding Catholic School and Family Formation programs. But Jesus Christ did not merely teach the children. Many a Saint has noted that there’s no standing still in the Christian life: We’re either moving forward or falling behind. Many Catholics think that they can cruise along for years, relying on what they learned many years ago, but that won’t work. We must be re-fueled, re-freshed, re-fed with the solid food that comes from Christ’s teaching. At Transfiguration, we offer numerous opportunities for Catholics of every age to grow in the Catholic Faith. Read more in the pages that follow.
Sunday Reading Bible Study
Looking for a way to help you get more out of the Sunday Gospel? We have prepared a short video for each upcoming Sunday, along with study questions, to guide you to a deeper understanding of the readings you will hear at Mass. You can use this video study for personal use, with your families, or in a small group setting. Click the link below for the study guides and videos.
Although the regular rhythm of family life has changed for now, there are many ways in which you can help your family grow in their faith. We encourage you to create a designated prayer area, where you and your family can spend time together in prayer and study. Here are some useful links to help you and your family connect with great resources – most of them totally free!
Franciscan at Home
Starting this fall, parishioners will have the opportunity to take classes through the online Franciscan University program while working alongside a mentor. “The cornerstone of the Institute’s work is our online library of video-based catechetical workshops. Designed to complement and supplement diocesan formation and continuing education programs already in place, the Catechetical Institute’s online programming makes the best of Franciscan University available to dioceses everywhere.” (Franciscan University) This program will be offered free of charge to our parishioners.
