Anne Lunde - Spanish Teacher

Spanish Teacher

Even though I grew up in St Anthony (just outside NE Mpls), I have always been interested in the way that other people think and live - different cultures are really fascinating to me. When I was in high school, I took a pilgrimage to Spain for World Youth Day and the people and places I saw intrigued me.

When deciding on a college major, I was able to combine my interest in cultures, psychology, and history by majoring in K-12 Education as well as Spanish Language & Culture. Studying abroad for four months in Seville, Spain in a completely immersive environment made me even more excited to learn about the culture and to share it to others.

When I graduated from the University of St Thomas in Spring of 2018, I got my diploma and a MN State Teaching License. I also married my husband later that summer, and then started at Transfiguration two weeks later.

My favorite Bible verse is:

He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:13-14

I knew when I graduated UST that I wanted to teach at a Catholic School. I went to a Catholic grade-school, and always loved the amazing environment that focusing on the Catholic faith creates. When I was looking at the Archdiocese website for openings, Transfiguration just jumped off the page- I love the energy that comes with teaching young students, and it was a great fit!

Besides teaching, I love to read, play piano, play board/card games, spend time with family & friends, and do all sorts of crafts.
