  • A Family of Faith was created to help develop strong Catholic families in which children learn the joys of following Jesus Christ and the truths of our Faith through the witness of Christian life given by their parents. Although individual families can easily use A Family of Faith independent of the parish, this program was designed to be used by parishes as an alternative to faith formation classes.

Studies tell us that parental involvement in the faith-life of their child is by far the most important element in ensuring that a child develops into a practicing Christian. A Family of Faith provides both the parish catechist and the parent with an easy-to-use, turnkey solution to catechizing the whole family and helping parents lead their children to Heaven.

  • Children are more likely to put into practice the faith they see lived out day-to-day at home.

There is a receptivity and vulnerability to good formation which only happens in the early years of children’s development, and only in the family. A family catechesis program helps families to embrace this time and use it to form their children well.

A careful reading through the documents of the Catholic Church quickly reveals the Church's great expectations for the family. “The right and duty of parents to give education is essential ... original and primary ... and it is irreplaceable and incapable of being entirely delegated to others” [Familiaris Consortio, 36]. Christ and His Church call parents to be “the first and foremost educators of their children” [Gravissimum Educationis, 3]. Family catechesis aids families in becoming the domestic churches they are called to be. [Lumen Gentium]

  • Students preparing for these Sacraments will still meet twice a month, but in addition will have two retreats. One in the winter, which is when they will make their First Reconciliation. There will also be an additional retreat in the spring to prepare them for First Holy Communion. Both retreats will be on a Saturday morning, dates will be announced before the Fall start date.

Confirmation Program

When a Catholic receives the Sacrament of Confirmation, we are completing the Christian Initiation begun at Baptism, receiving the seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Right Judgment, Courage, Knowledge, Piety, and the Fear of the Lord. In receiving these Gifts, we are called to use them for the greater glory of God. Confirmation preparation at Transfiguration Catholic Church helps our youth to understand how to live out the seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit in their daily lives.

Confirmation preparation at Transfiguration is a one-year in which students begin the fall and concluding with the sacrament of Confirmation during the Easter season of 8th grade.

Adult Formation Opportunities

  • OCIA Formation Nights

We invite anyone who is interested in becoming Catholic or has questions about the Catholic faith to come to our formation nights open to anyone wanting to learn more about the Catholic faith.

  • Walking With Purpose

“Walking with Purpose” is a nationally acclaimed Women’s Bible Study program. Walking with Purpose endeavors to meet women where they are, giving them practical Biblical teaching that is consistent with Church doctrine and uses the Catechism of the Catholic Church as an additional resource.

  • League of Elijah

The League of Elijah is designed for the men of Transfiguration by the men of Transfiguration to assist them in being the men God has called them to be. They are regular men who know they are weak alone and need other men to run this race to Heaven with them.
