Sacramental Preparation

Transfiguration Catholic Church

  • The first step to having your child receive the Sacrament of Baptism at Transfiguration is to call the Parish Office at 651-738-2646 for more information and to schedule your child’s Baptism. Our Baptism preparation sessions for the parents are held regularly, and you will be invited to join us at an upcoming session.

Baptisms at Transfiguration are held the second through last Sundays of every month, with the exception of Holy Days. The Sacrament of Baptism takes place at 11:45 a.m. in the Church.

Adults wishing to receive the Sacrament of Baptism participate in the RCIA program.

  • A preparation program for First Reconciliation is offered to help parents and children (usually second graders) before celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Transfiguration School Children in Grade 2 are automatically registered. Parents attend two mandatory meetings to hear an explanation of the program, prayer, and what to expect during First Reconciliation. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated in late January.

Children not attending our Catholic School need to be registered and attend Family Formation to prepare for First Reconciliation. A First Reconciliation Booklet is completed at home with their parents’ help.

For more information, please contact Deacon Dan Brewer at 651-501-2201.

  • First Holy Communion preparation is offered to those parents whose children (usually second graders) are ready to receive Holy Communion. Preparation will begin each year in October. Parents attend two mandatory meetings to hear an explanation of the program, the meaning of the Sacrament for Catholic parents, and specifics on preparing their children. Children not attending our Catholic School need to be registered and attend Family Formation to prepare for First Holy Communion. Transfiguration School Children in Grade 2 are automatically registered.

For more information please contact Deacon Dan Brewer at 651-501-2201.

  • Confirmation is celebrated in the 8th grade at Transfiguration, following a two-year preparation program. Students prepare either in our School or through our Confirmation program.

For more info, contact Deacon Dan Brewer at 651-501-2201.

  • For those wishing to be married at Transfiguration, please contact the Parish Office at least nine months prior to the desired date of the ceremony. Once you have contacted the Office, a tentative date will be reserved and a meeting will be scheduled with our Pastor. At this initial meeting with the Pastor, your ceremony date will be confirmed and you will receive the information needed to prepare for the Sacrament.

Please contact the Parish Office at 651-738-2646 with questions or to begin preparation for the Sacrament of Matrimony.
